Self-Managed Abortion Resources
Call (281) 978-2455
Abortion is healthcare. Healthcare is a human right. Bodily autonomy is a human right.
Right now, the provision of abortions is banned at all stages of pregnancy in Texas. Politicians are trying to scare you out of exercising your reproductive rights with chilling language, legislation and confusion tactics. Regardless of the politicized, inflammatory rhetoric around reproductive care, you have options. You are not alone.
If you would like to speak to a trusted, non-judgmental expert about navigating your pregnancy options, please call (281) 978-2455. Our conversations are strictly confidential. Your identity and all information you share with us will not be stored, and your privacy will be safeguarded.
The FDA has determined that medication abortion is safe and effective for people who are less than 10 weeks pregnant. (If you are over 10 weeks pregnant, you can travel out of state to access an in-clinic abortion procedure). We have a list of available resources and information about self managed abortion (SMA) and in-clinic abortion in the page below.
We are here to help you access the emotional support and medical care you deserve.

FOLLOW-UP CARE FOR HOUSTON FOOD AND BEVERAGE WORKERS
Medication abortion is FDA-approved, 95-98% effective and known to be safer than Tylenol. However, it is important to know risks and what to expect. You will be supported at all times. The Miscarriage and Abortion hotline is staffed by clinicians who can answer questions or medical concerns you may have. Planned Parenthood also has accurate information about the risks of medication abortion.
If you are a Food and Beverage worker based in or around the greater Houston area, we can connect you to and fund any care you may need after taking the abortion pill. (We do not pay for or provide the pill itself; see resource list for help with this). Follow-up care may include ultrasound imaging, additional doses of misoprostol or a dilation and curettage procedure (D&C). A D&C is very safe, and takes anywhere from 15 to 30 minutes.
If you are not a Food and Beverage worker or do not live in Houston, the above SMA resources are still available to you. The Lilith Fund is currently supporting Texans seeking pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and other reproductive care at Houston Women’s Reproductive Services.
A NOTE ABOUT “CRISIS PREGNANCY CENTERS”
In seeking low to no-cost ultrasounds, pregnancy tests or other reproductive care, many people turn to anti-abortion centers commonly known as “Crisis Pregnancy Centers” (CPC).
These centers provide false, biased or misleading information about your reproductive options (1). They have been known to lie about ultrasound results and give out misinformation about the abortion pill. To view a list of crisis pregnancy centers in each state, you can visit Expose Fake Clinics.
If you are unsure whether a center is a CPC, do not hesitate to call us at (281) 978-2455.
