IHWSH invited filmmaker Joanna James for a screening of her award winning documentary A Fine Line, followed by a panel discussion moderated by Dayna Steele, featuring Tae Mi Lee (CFO, NextSeed), Tracy Vaught (Htown Restaurant Group), Elizabeth Gregory (Director, UH Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies), and Anita Jaisinghani (Chef-owner, Pondicheri).
Chef Sasha Grumman and pastry Chef Valerie Trasatti of Rosalie Italian Soul welcomed us and colleagues to the C. Baldwin Hotel. Culinary lead Chef Roshni Gurnani (ChefRosh.com) curated a movie themed tasting featuring Diyva Budhrani Carmichael (SugarDADy Desserts), Marisha Johnson (Kulture), Diana Acevedo (Renegade Baker) and Chef Jane Wild (The Dunlavy). Sarah Troxell (Nobie's, Toasted Coconut) provided a zero-proof cocktail and Cat Nguyen curated our wines.
Thanks to the leadership of Andrea Buford, director of IHWSH EATS, our newfound mentoring initiative and local activist and businesswoman Star Massing, the event welcomed over 100 attendees for this important conversation on women in the food and beverage industry - as always, with a side of deliciousness from a group of outstanding volunteers.
